Post It
The angrily scribbled words on the yellow Post-It note disappeared as the match flame incinerated them. She threw the burnt remains into the sink. Then she wrote another note, torching it as well. She tossed that into the sink to join its sister’s charred remains, and watched them both drown when she turned on the water faucet to destroy their existence.
When he came home that night, she anticipated catching the elusive scent of his latest conquest. She did. When he smiled at her, she smiled back. Whispering the words she had written on the Post-Its hours before.
“Die.”
“Die.”
